1. Explain the purpose of using ‘youtube’ as a source of digital media advertising.

The idea behind posting videos on youtube to advertise digitally is so that people can see your company/product without you having to pay for that ad to appear on television. And also as the internet is used quite as much as often as the T.V people surf for videos on youtube and can end up linked to the advertisement.

2. Discuss how media collaborative sites such as youtube, myspace, bebo have change the current boundaries of media such as news.

Media collaborative sites over the past few years have initiated new ways to make their sites more popular. Sites use aspects such as news and weather so that you don’t need to go to any other site and that everything that you would want is on there.

3. Provide a link to an advertising commercial on youtube.

Some newspaper sites online give people the chance to write what they think of the story or situation. People can post also from their general knowledge what they know of the story.

Scenario 1: You are on a train coming home from a day at the beach. The train stops at a station and a group a youths get on the train and start bashing an elderly ethnic man. You notice people getting off the train.

Discuss what you would do in this situation.

In this situation I would have called the local train station and informed them about what was happening on the train. I would not have wanted to get involved in the situation and tried to physically stop them as I know that God has other plans for me on the earth.

Scenario 2: You get a message from a girl that you are interested asking you to come over her house. When you get there a number of her friends are present and they say they are bored. One of them promotes the idea of going for a walk and causing a riot. At first you tell them “No way”. However, the girl you like states that “she will like you more if you go”.Discuss what you would do in this situation.

In this situation I would just leave and lose all my association with her and her friends because my mum told me once that if you have a friend that is not responsible just dont be associated with them. I would also do this on any occasion regardless of what she had told me.

1. Describe what is a person’s conscience.

A persons conscience is basically what they think is the right think to do in the situation. In a conscience a person will make an action based on what they feel is right.

2. Describe how a person’s conscience works in making moral decisions. Explain the relationship between religion and conscience.

A persons conscience can influence ones moral maturity and decision making. A conscience can help make a moral decision. Basically it means that by using your consciece you can think about making the right moral decision in a situation. The realtionship between religion and conscience is that religion relates to ones beliefs and conscience refers to ones personal decision, to sum it all up you could say that they both are about what you believe is right. E.g. Having a conscience to do the thing that Jesus would do and making the moral decision.

1. Define the term ‘Moral Maturity.’

Moral Maturity refers to having the correct conscience to make the right decision in life.

2. Discuss the reasons why the 25 year old man mentioned in the article would be regarded as having a lack of moral maturity.

The man in the article would be regarded as having a lack of moral maturity for the following reasons.

Fighting Back: The man had a choice not to fight at the police. He could have just remained calm and not fight back. However because the man responded back with aggression he would face a bigger charge. And he had the nerve to want to get in more trouble which can be described as not having any moral maturity.

Resisting Arrest: When he was chased down by the police the man would have known for sure that he was no hope of escape and could have easily made a choice to surrender.

3. Identify the differences between ‘morality’ and ‘immorality’.

Morality means to make the right or wrong decision based on ones concsience. The meaning of immorality however is to go against the moral rules. The difference between the two is that morality is making a decision based on good morals however immorality is to make decisions based on ones own decisions without thinking of the moral rules.

4. Watch the clip and describe the reasons why Governor Spitzer’s actions would be regarded as ‘immoral’.

1. Which countries have banned the Internet?

The countries which have banned the internet are:

As many people would know, the internet has become a natural part of our world. People access it all the time in different corners of the earth. However while the internet is very useful their are some countries which have placed bans on it. These countries are: Belarus, Burma, Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Lybia, Saudi Arabia, North Korea, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, and Vietnam. The countries which have banned the internet are referred to as the “enemies of the Internet.”

http://fiu.edu/~fcf/twnetyenemies.html

2. Describe what the following image is about. (Provide two websites to support your findings)

Banned

This image depicts how youtube is banned in various countries by showing different cultures. It mainly shows China because of the Chinese flag and the Chinese man. China has banned Youtube due to a large amount of protesters from Tibet. The man in the image is the leader of the Tibetan Community.

The first website which shows this is http://www.boingboing.net/2008/03/16/tibet-china-blocks-y.html

This website shows a news report of the Chinese people blocking Youtube. The website shows the protest which was on the 16th of March. The reason that youtube was blocked was due to people posting videos of protests by the Tibetan people

The second website is almost the same but however is a bit more detailed. This site however talks about what kind of videos were posted. The videos posted contained montages of images, music and video.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080316/ap_on_hi_te/china_youtube_blocked

3. Provide evidence of at least FIVE sources (Websites, newspapers, blogs, videos etc) that discuss reasons why these countries have taken such a drastic approach.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5cEQQiVC_Yw

This is a short video which shows simple reasons as to why the Chinese Government has banned youtube. It only identifies the reasons however.

4. Discuss how you would feel if the Australian Government Banned the Internet. What privileges would you lose?

If the Australian Government had banned all access to the internet in Australia I would be at a complete loss. The average Australian relies on the Internet for almost everything. Almost every household contains a computer with internet access. If the Australian Constitution were to ban the Internet it would be good for both sides. However in order to find out if the action is fair one must look at both sides of the topic. As a personal opinion though I would be fairly disappointed as I would be at a big loss of my life. The internet has been known to contain harmful sites to computers. Some aspects include theft identity, credit card details and money stolen online, pornography and cyber bullying. However on a positive side though the internet is a great resource for information, excellent form of communication, keeps old friends back in touch, helps people on the other side of the globe, is a great opportunity to be more knowledgeable and a lot more.

If the internet was banned by the Australian Government I would not be able to talk to my friends which many people decide in the world is a complete waste of time. While many believe this, software such as Msn is helpful for people like me who’s team mates in debating have Msn. With Msn we can discuss topics for practice debates etc. For our group work as well it is very helpful. Another privilege which I would lose is an access to simple and easy information which makes it easier than going through a 10 000 page book. To be honest however I would be a fair bit dissapointed.

To do list – Sacramental

Over the last project, Inspiring People of faith I learnt the importance of sacramental and how being sacramental is to be an example of God and as if you are in his mighty presence. Some steps I am taking to be Sacramental are:

Random Acts of Kindness-I believe that Random Acts of Kindness is an important and simple way to resemble God’s likeness. By doing random acts of kindess you will get used to doing it as a habit and you will not need to try and it will come naturally. Things I could do include simple things like jus saying hi to a guy i don’t know, being helpful, help someone if they are struggling with books, encourage others in what they do well and a whole lot more.

Note: Mr. Hays presentation gave me this idea about it being a habit

Another small step I have taken on so i can be sacramental is to help my mum as much as possible. I believe that this is important as our mothers help us with everything and that we could not live without them. Things I can do to help my mum include taking out the rubbish, getting the sunday paper, keeping the house tidy etc.
